Abstract
The participants to the workshop examined ways to evaluate the socio-economic costs and benefits of whale-watching, both in terms of financial gain, and more intangible costs and benefits. Formal recommendations were made as to how to increase the value of whale-watching and reduce the social, economic, and environmental costs.
